has lots of energy but struggles to channel it.
gets bored easily or switches off on walks.
loves learning and doing things with you.
needs more mental stimulation and focus.

A healthy outlet for energy that actually tired the brain, not just the body.
Better off-lead control and responsiveness on walks.
A calmer, more connected dog at home.
A shared activity you both genuinely enjoy.
guide your dog clearly using your movement and positioning
build focus and engagement before adding difficulty
teach each piece of equipment step by step
gradually link skills together into flowing sequences

A fun introduction to canine sports and Hoopers for puppies from 5 months
Hoops & Pups is our puppy-specific introduction to the world of canine sports and Hoopers.
Rather than simply teaching puppies to navigate Hoopers equipment, we start by building the physical and learning foundations they'll need as they grow. Through fun, age-appropriate exercises, we'll work on skills such as balance, coordination, body awareness and turning, alongside a gradual introduction to hoops, barrels and other early Hoopers skills.
Over the eight-week course, we'll build these foundations step by step, helping your puppy develop confidence, learn how to use their body and discover just how much fun training together can be.
By the end of Hoops & Pups, you'll have a great set of skills to continue practising together — and if you've both caught the Hoopers bug, you'll be ready to progress into Beginners Hoopers and start building towards the Canine Hoopers World Progress Awards.
For puppies from 5 months | 8-week course | Maximum 4 puppies
New to Hoopers? Beginners Hoopers is the perfect place to start — or the next step if you and your puppy have already completed Hoops & Pups.
Whether you're completely new to Hoopers or looking for something fun and engaging to do with your dog, there's a clear pathway for you to follow.
Our Beginner Hoopers Class is designed for dogs and handlers who are new to Hoopers, as well as puppies progressing from Hoops & Pups.
We build your skills step by step through fun, structured training, helping both you and your dog develop the confidence and understanding you need to progress.
You'll work on:
focus and engagement
understanding and confidently navigating the Hoopers equipment
foundation handling skills
building independence and confidence
gradually linking skills together into simple sequences
Never done Hoopers before? That's absolutely fine. You don't need any previous experience to join Beginners.
If you've completed Hoops & Pups, you'll already have some fantastic sports and Hoopers foundations in place, and we'll build on those as you progress through the Beginner class.
And there's no expectation that you need to compete. You can work through Hoopers purely for the fun of learning something new and enjoying training with your dog.
We use the Canine Hoopers World Progress Awards throughout our Hoopers classes, with Beginners working through Levels 1–4. The awards give you and your dog clear, achievable goals to work towards — with certificates and rosettes to celebrate your progress along the way.
Small, friendly classes | No experience needed | Reward-based training
Once you and your dog have built your foundations, the Improvers class helps you take things further.
You’ll begin working on:
longer and more complete Hoopers courses
developing distance handling skills
smoother, clearer handling and communication
building confidence and independence over longer sequences
improving teamwork, accuracy and flow
This is where your dog really starts to understand the game — and where your skills as a handler grow too.
We use the Canine Hoopers World Progress Awards to give you a clear framework to work through, with Improvers teams progressing through Levels 5–10 at their own pace.
There's no pressure to race through the levels and no requirement to compete. The awards simply give you achievable goals, recognise your progress and give you plenty of new challenges along the way.

For teams who are ready to refine and challenge their skills at a higher level.
At this stage, we focus on:
more advanced distance handling
greater independence around the course
improving precision, timing and flow
increasingly complex handling challenges
longer and more challenging full courses
Advanced teams continue through the Canine Hoopers World Progress Awards from Level 11 onwards, giving even experienced teams something new to work towards.
Whether your goal is to compete, work your way through the Progress Awards or simply enjoy tackling increasingly challenging courses with your dog, there's always somewhere for your Hoopers journey to go next.
I'm a Level 2 Advanced Canine Hoopers World Instructor, so your training follows a structured progression designed to develop both you and your dog as you move through the different stages of Hoopers.
Whether you're starting with a puppy in Hoops & Pups, learning the equipment for the first time in Beginners, or tackling more advanced distance handling and courses, I'll help you build each new skill on the foundations you've already developed.
This isn’t just about running courses — it’s about building skills, confidence, and a great working partnership with your dog.
When you join Hoopers, you’ll get:
Structured, progressive training
You won’t be left guessing what to do next. Each class builds on the last, helping you and your dog develop skills step by step.
Small, supportive classes
With limited numbers, every dog and handler gets the space and guidance they need to learn without pressure.
A clear progression pathway
From Hoops & Pups and Beginners through to Improvers and Advanced, there's always a next step when you're ready for it.
Goals and achievements along the way
The Canine Hoopers World Progress Awards give you something tangible to work towards, with certificates and rosettes to celebrate your achievements as you progress.
Real-life benefits beyond the field
The focus, responsiveness, body awareness and communication you develop through training can benefit your partnership away from Hoopers too.
A fun, engaging outlet for your dog
Hoopers provides both physical activity and mental enrichment, giving your dog the opportunity to think, learn and problem-solve with you.
A welcoming, social environment
You'll train alongside a small group of like-minded dog owners who, just like you, want to enjoy doing something fun with their dogs.
The option to progress as far as you want
You don't have to compete. You can work through the Progress Awards, enjoy your weekly class, explore competition — or do a bit of everything.
However far you choose to take it, the goal stays the same: having fun, developing new skills and enjoying training with your dog.
We’re having so much fun with Hoopers, learning loads, and building a stronger bond — and the skills have made a real difference on our walks.
