Our Beginners Canine Hoopers Class welcomes dogs that have completed our Hoops 'n Pups Course or the Adult Foundation Level. Alternatively, if you and your dog have previous experience of Hoopers or Agility this will be the place to start.
Here, we build on the previously learned hoopers groundwork, building more independence and understanding while maintaining a high level of control. Enhancing your and your dog's love for hooping, and elevating your relationship moulding you into an effective hooping team.

I started taking my dog to Hoopers training classes because he loves being with me and learning new things. We started attending Hoopers in March 2020. In a fairly short time, Henry has earned his Level 1 & 2 Rosettes.
In order to achieve this, he had to learn to turn in different directions, to move away from me and to read my body language as this helps him to go in the right direction. These skills are great fun at Hoopers classes but they are also useful when we are out on walks.
Natasja is an excellent trainer. She gives clear instructions and also demonstrates with her own dogs. If Henry or I make a mistake Natasja pinpoints where I have gone wrong and helps me put it right.
All the training is reward-based and there is no pressure on either dogs or handlers. There are 10 levels in Hoopers, Henry and I still have some way to go! In the meantime we are having fun, learning lots in the process and building a stronger bond between us.

My border Collie, like most collies is smart, hyperactive and likes lots of play and exercise. As well as plenty of exercise she needed something to engage her brain. I enrolled her into the Hoops 'n Pups course, where she learned to accept the various pieces of equipment, and to keep her attention on me whilst negotiating a small course of obstacles.
She has become much calmer around other dogs and this has been commented on by others with energetic puppies. Because of the positive change I saw in her behaviour, I didn't hesitate to progress to the Beginners Hoopers Class. Hoopers definitely provides her with much needed mental stimulation. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us both as we continue our hoopers journey.
